Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar Brings Lots of International Experienceby Ila Burdette Sarah Brittingham, a graduate of Pace Academy and Georgia State University, will head off this September to begin her studies at the Institute of Social Studies at The Hague, Netherlands. Sarah, who was nominated by our club and selected by District 6900, will focus on Development Studies with an emphasis on Population and Poverty. She also plans to continue her professional work in international adoption, and has just returned from a trip to Pixabaj, Solola, Guatemala where she is assisting in fundraising for a school there. Sarah shared photos of the school built with donations, students, and her Mayan friends including two carrot farmers carrying a 100 lb bag (which would bring about $10 US). Grace Choi, a rising senior at Emory University, majoring in Sociology and Public Health also visited the club. She is one of three students Buckhead Rotary recently nominated to compete at District 6900 this summer for Ambassadorial Scholarships. Good luck, Grace! |
