Thoughts from District Governor Roy Strickland

by Ila Burdette

  • I am Proud to Be a Rotarian!
  • Is there someone with whom you should share Rotary? Our clubs are filled with friends, heroes, role models.
  • Remember that Rotary is not merely a civic club; it is the greatest international humanitarian service organization.
  • A strong Rotary International depends on strong individual Rotary clubs that grow and remain vital and engaged.
  • District 6900 is healthy. This July 1, it was the first district ever to report annual programs gifts from every member club.
  • We will have a new club soon to serve Emory/ Druid Hills.
  • Remember the August 29 Rotary Foundation dinner which will celebrate new Paul Harris Fellows.
  • Remember the February 1020 World Literacy Conference to be held at the Carter Center.
  • Remember the April 22 – 25, 2010 District 6900 Superconference to be held at the Cobb Galleria.
  • Rotary's New Annual Theme: “The future of Rotary is in your hands.”
  • Dig a little deeper, reach a little higher this year.
