Nominate Holiday Luncheon Honoree

by Jim Breedlove

The selection process has begun for the Robert Ross Johnson Humanitarian of the Year Award to be presented at our Holiday Luncheon, December 8, 2009.

On behaIf of co-chair Pat Haly and our selection committee, we would like to offer you the opportunity to nominate a person or a couple for this prestigious award. We will present the award at our Holiday Luncheon in December.

Here are the criteria by which our committee will select the 2009 awardee.

Buckhead Rotary selection criteria:

  • A person who would be described as a "Humanitarian."
  • A person who shows compassion for others by the way they lead their life
  • A person who either by their vocation, avocation or volunteer work strives to make life better for other human beings
  • A person who has a connection to Atlanta - but not necessarily Buckhead - either as a resident, an organization headquartered in Atlanta or residents of Atlanta benefit from this person's humanitarian efforts
  • A person who could make an interesting presentation or about whose work a meaningful presentation could be made so as to have an interesting presentation at the annual awards luncheon
  • A person whose life exemplifies the Four-Way Test
  • A living person
  • This person can NOT be a current Buckhead Rotarian

If you have a person whom you would like to nominate, please send their name and a short write-up of their accomplishments to Jim.Breedlove@fernbankmuseum.org by Monday morning, August 10.

Thank you and we look forward to choosing still another person or couple who we feel best epitomizes the life of "Reverend Bob."
