Although known to many of you, I am pleased to introduce Nick Spates to the club as a new member. I am sponsoring Nick along with President Means. Nick left the Atlanta Peachtree club because they changed their meeting day to Thursday, making it difficult for Nick to attend meetings.
We have gotten to know Nick as our assistant governor for the past four years.
Nick is a Paul Harris fellow and a member of the Paul Harris Society. He is becoming a sustainer of the Buckhead Rotary Foundation and the GRSP Foundation.
Nick currently is SVP of Modular Process Controll, LLC, a firm that helps large, energy intensive manufacturing companies reduce energy consumption, costs, and greenhouse gas emissions through the use of a proprietary energy management system.
Born in Evanston, IL, Nick received a BS cum laude from the University of Florida, an MBA, magna cum laude, from the Lake Forrest Graduate School of Management, and attended the international management program at Oxford University in England.
Nick is a graduate of the BBA leadership development program, participates in the International Alliance mentor program at Georgia State, and the Georgia 100 mentor program. He is also a member of Toastmasters.
Nick joined Rotary in 1994. He was a charter member of the Atlanta Peachtree club and served as its president in 2002-03, when he was awarded the prestigious Sheffield Leadership Award by District 6900.
Nick has traveled to 52 countries, including Fiji. He is an avid golfer, snow skier and triathlete.
Fellow members, please welcome Nick to Buckhead Rotary.
