Atlanta Tentatively Selected to Host 2017 Rotary International Convention

Atlanta has most likely won its bid to host the 2017 Rotary International Convention. The official announcement will come at the convention in Montreal next summer.

As reported by Atlanta Rotary Club member Maria Saporta, past district governor Robert Hall says that only Atlanta will receive an official site visit, scheduled for April 2010. Competing cities were Cleveland, Detroit, and the Canadian cities of Edmonton and Toronto.

Atlanta's bid was boosted by the fact that 2017 will be the centennial of the founding of the Rotary Foundation in Atlanta.
