8 buckheadRUN & Bodacious Blooms 5K

Let's get a Rotary Team together!

buckheadRUN!, Livable Buckhead’s sixth annual 5K, returns on Saturday, May 4. Once again, this year’s race is part of Buckhead Village District’s Bodacious Blooms festival, a four-day celebration of spring featuring larger-than-life floral installations and community-wide events.

Livable Buckhead is encouraging runners of all ages and abilities to join the fun and to bring their four-legged friends with them. In addition to awards for the fastest runners in various age groups, buckheadRUN! includes a “Fastest Fido” category, bandana giveaways for dogs, a pre-race hype event and post-race celebration. Runners are also encouraged to celebrate spring by dressing in flower-themed costumes and garb. Livable Buckhead will award prizes for the best flower costumes.

This year’s field of runners will follow a new USA Track and Field-certified course that begins at Lenox Square, follows PATH400 to Miami Circle then takes Piedmont Rd. and East Paces Ferry Rd. to Buckhead Village.

buckheadRUN! is a 2025 Peachtree Road Race qualifier.

buckheadRUN! registration is $35 for adults and $15 for children. Registration increases to $45 for adults and $25 for children after April 12. Awards will be given to the top male and female in eight divisions, and all registered runners will receive a commemorative t-shirt following the race. The “Fastest Fido” award will go to the fastest dog in the race.

Use code ROTARY10 for $10 off.

Atlanta Fire Rescue Cookout

If you are looking for a fun and easy way to give back - this is it!  Our annual fire rescue cookout serving the Buckhead Battalion is hosted jointly with Livable Buckhead and is guaranteed to be a good time.  Roles needed include setup, grilling, serving, interacting with the fire fighters and cleaning up.

We have done this for many years now so we have it down to a science (except that one year we almost caused a fire)!   Come for as much or as little of it as you can.  Setup will begin at 11am and we will grill till everyone is served which is typically about 1:30.

Reserve your place as a member of the Buckhead Club's delegation to Romania! As described in a separate email (attached), the trip has a seven-day option which includes time in Bucharest and a tour of Dracula's Castle and other important sites or a three-day option for time only with the Suceava-Bucovina and Cherkasy Rotary Clubs. A final installment will be due on August 1st. The full cost of the time in Romania will be about $1700 for single travelers and about $2700 for couples. For those choosing three-day option, the total cost for a single traveler will be about $800 or $1450 for a couple. 2024 Holiday Ham Haul

It's BAAAAAAAACK!  The Christmas Eve dinner delivery for our First Responders!  This insanely popular event will provide dinner to every single fire station and police precinct in the City of Atlanta.  We will pull it off in conjunction with Livable Buckhead, Buckhead Coalition and some additional sponsors yet to be nailed down.

We need volunteers to help with picking up food, setting up the distribution and delivering the dinners to the stations.  We need a lot of hands for this and if you are delivering, you need a car with a little bit of space! Pick up/Set up will start at 8am, deliveries will begin at 11:00am and should be wrapped up no later than about 2pm.
