Service Above Self

At the Rotary Club of Buckhead, our philosophy is to embrace diversity. We strive to keep long-term partnerships with local organizations while every year unveiling a new three-year commitment to an organization. Our commitments are not merely check-writing, but also a chance for our members to be present, volunteer and connect with people that they serve.

Our Signature Projects

The Boyce L. Ansley School

The Boyce L. Ansley School is a tuition-free private school, currently Kindergarten through fourth grade, specifically catering to underprivileged children experiencing, or those who have experienced, homelessness.

The mission is to help children and their families break the cycle of generational poverty by providing their students with an excellent education and collaborative family support in a nurturing and faith-inspired environment.

The Boyce L. Ansley School is named in memory of Boyce Lineberger Ansley who was a highly respected and beloved member and leader of St Luke’s Episcopal Church, as well as many nonprofit Boards including the Atlanta Opera (Chair), the Georgia Advisory Council of the Trust for Public Land (founding member), the Atlanta Preservation Center, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, and the Frazer Center.

Agape Youth & Family Center

Agape serves 200 school-age children year-round in innovative, in-school and after-school academic support programs, and 40 senior citizens providing a vibrant, social, safe community.

They provide a supervised, safe haven in the after-school programs at a time of day when teen crime and teen pregnancy spike among unsupervised youths. Students and mentors are often paired in elementary school and the relationship may last through high school graduation.

Agape’s innovative in-school and after-school program model is complemented by Agape services and outreach that fulfill a holistic approach to guiding each child to discover and embrace their full potential.

Chastain Horse Park

The Chastain Horse Park is an inclusive community of trainers, volunteers, and instructors serving children, teens and adults that come from all walks of life, all ages, all abilities and all geographies surrounding the greater Atlanta area.

Through their Therapeutic Program, they serve individuals with a broad range of physical, cognitive and emotional abilities and all socioeconomic backgrounds. Through their School and Boarder Programs, they provide opportunities for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders to excel in the sport of horsemanship.

Their vision is to become the model recognized by professional equestrian organizations throughout the U.S. for bringing riders of all abilities together into a single inclusive community.
