Monsignor Francis McNamee is the rector of the Cathedral of Christ the King, the mother-church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta and a parish of almost 6,000 registered families.
A native of Loughrea, Ireland, Monsignor Frank was ordained to the priesthood in 1995 at St. Brendan’s Cathedral in Loughrea. Since then, he has ministered at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (Peachtree City), St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church (Kennesaw), and St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church (Roswell). He has served as the chaplain of the Roswell Fire Department. As rector of the Cathedral, he annually celebrates a Blue Mass, honoring local first responders and remembering those who have lost their lives in service to their community.
Monsignor Frank studied philosophy at St. Patrick’s College in Thurles and attended seminary at St. John’s College in Waterford City, Ireland.
